If you've ever waited for dial-up to connect you and then tried to download a graphics-rich webpage, the need for broadband access becomes immediately clear. However, even with that said, in many cases, people will resist leaving dial-up because of cost concerns, thoughts that going to high-speed will be too much of hassle and too complex, and a myriad of other myths about getting robbed through the Internet.

Many who are still surfing the net with their 56k modems are of the opinion that they can live just fine without broadband access. In either case, surfing the web at high-speeds will rapidly become your thing to do. It will allow you to watch movies, watch newscasts, catch up on the weather, keep in touch with relatives remotely and live through streaming videos and webcams and a myriad of other tasks that dialup access is simply to slow to handle.
