Every internet marketer knows the words. Google AdWords and Google AdSense are the new kids in town in the internet marketing craze and everyone cannot wait to jump on the bandwagon. Suddenly there are fliers and e-books everywhere touting the greatness of these marketing venues and encouraging everyone to fly off their couch, sign up with an affiliate company and launch their own internet marketing career.
What are AdWords and AdSense? What is the difference between the two? These small details are never truly explained by the individuals who come into the conversation with their eyes aglow in the fervor of fanaticism. It is astonishing how uninformed these crazed advocates can be at times, and if there is one thing a successful internet marketer cannot afford to be it's uninformed.
The concepts behind Google's AdWords campaign is very simple. When people go to Google they type in a number of words into the search engine bar which will allow Google to direct them in the direction they need to go. These words are what are known to individuals in the internet marketing community as keywords.
Keywords are what are used to show a specific group of people specific ads or websites. An advertiser can take advantage of this by using these keywords when they advertise. In this way they can have their ads displayed with the search results. This can bring almost two times the exposure
Setting up a profitable Adwords campaign isn't to be done lightly. Even greater care should be taken when managing it. Adword campaigns that fail cost marketers much of their advertisement budget. Because Adwords is a pay-per-click advertising plan it allows advertisers greater amounts of exposure for a small fee; usually less than one dollar, but that can add up fast.
Adsense works for the website owner like adwords works for the advertiser. With adsense, website owners choose a list of topics or keywords that are pertinent to the topic of their website and then Google sends them a variety of adwords ads to show on their site. When someone clicks on the ad they are payed a portion of the fee google charges the advertiser. Hopefully when the searcher clicks over they will buy from the advertiser. If working properly this is beneficial for both adwords and ansense subscribers.
If confusion still clouds your mind on their relationship, do a search on Google on those two words and you can get a more precise definition and information on step by step instructions for setting up either campaign.
