Forget all you've been told about making money online

The only way to get success in the online world is to create a plan or blueprint or have one given to you. Then have the commitment, drive and ambition to take the necessary action to follow it through. It doesn't matter if you're selling your own ebooks, widgets or work as an affiliate for someone else you have to follow a route map to success and follow it through to the end.

We all know what can happen if we don't make a plan, we dither, delay and fail. As the mantra goes - people don't plan to fail, they fail to plan" - and yet we seem to be destined to fail and give up, time after time. So what goes wrong?

We're too easily mislead along a new path - We set off on one path hoping that this time we'll find success only be distracted by the latest guru offer as soon as it lands in our mailbox. So we set off on that path with renewed hope and a reduced bank balance until we're distracted again. It's as if we take the wrong turn at every junction and then wonder why we always end up at the start again. It's not the gurus fault that you fall for their latest offer, instead you should try deleting those emails until you have completed one task from start to finish.

We catch the learning bug - This is when the insatiable hunger for more training and the latest product takes over as you buy and devour them at an alarming rate. The problem is that most online guru training sells you hope not results! This means that they are quickly forgotten as we move on to our next digital fix.

We give up too easily - It appears to be human nature to give up at the first hurdle. Quite why we do this when trying to get into the online business when we'll persevere in the real world has to be the stuff of some future psychological research. My theory is that deep down we don't fully understand what we're doing and why - this means we start thinking we will fail and so we give up and the first problem. That first problem is probably I've written one article and not had dozens of visitors, why not? If we had something to believe in that was fully explained then we would see it through and get to the success.

We don't invest the necessary time and effort - In one word that means that we don't take action! Action is what will drive us forward, step by step to success. Even if you feel frustrated or feel like you're losing ground you must power through and keep taking action or you are bound to fail again.

Stop! It's not your fault! Everything you've been told about affiliate marketing and making money online is wrong! It's time to put the cons and scams behind you and take control of your online future.

The path to succeed is surprisingly simple.

1. Choose a product to promote - I'm going to recommend one but feel free to choose something else.

2. Read it and then read it again. Take lots of notes to ensure that nothing gets missed.

3. Create a detailed task list. Break the plan down further into a task list with everything that you need to do.

4. Start from the top of your task list and begin. Cross them off as they are completed and add any news ones that you come across. Don't worry if the task list gets any bigger - as that annoying fish said in Finding Nemo -Just keep going!

5. Whenever you have a little time choose and do a task.

6. Just keep going and then have a big push to finish the list.

7. Make sure you celebrate those landmarks such as the first sign up to an autoresponder and that first sale.
