You will likely have to consider if you want to be involved in offering space at your restaurant for people to host parties or not. This can be a great way to generate more business though and to make a nice profit from their event. People are always looking for a great restaurant when they want to host a birthday party or other type of gathering where they will have a large crowd.

This is a personal choice, so you will need to decide if you want to involve yourself in it. While it can be profitable, it can also be very time consuming. You are also going to have to take close look at how your restaurant is set up. Is there a place available for such events to take place? Can you install a sliding door to block off a portion of the restaurant to give them some privacy?

Think about how you are going to set up your restaurant to allow those hosting a party to have some privacy. You want them to have an area where they aren't going to be bothering your other guests too. If you have a banquet room that is great, but if you don't you may think about installing sliding doors so you can section off a particular area of your restaurant during parties.

Are you going to charge them a fee for using the facility? Many restaurants don't do this because they are going to make money from the guests eating there. Are you going to allow them to decorate for the event? If so, make sure they understand that they are also required to remove the decorations afterwards. You will need them to let you know how many people will be attending the party as well so you can have the staff on hand to accommodate them.

You definitely don't want your regular customers to suffer because you have a party going on at the same time. If this happens, you may lose some customers that would have continued to come back again if the service had been better. Always make sure you are able to meet the needs of everyone that is there if you are allowing parties to be hosted at your restaurant.

The bookings for the parties is very important as well. Make sure you have a reliable person or yourself taking care of all the details. If the person taking care of it isn't in, have the other employees provide them with contact information. There are too many issues that can happen if you let everyone start making such arrangements for parties. Some of them may not get written down accurately, and others many not get written down at all.

While booking the party, make sure you get a name and a contact number. You also need to find out how many people to expect for the event. This is going to help you be prepared in the kitchen and with your wait staff. You may have a time limit for the parties in your restaurant or you can allow them to tell you how much time they will need to complete it. Generally a couple of hours at least should be allotted.

The menu is also something that needs to be discussed for the party. Find out if they want the entire menu to be offered to the guests or not. If the host is paying for everyone, they may want to offer one or two items off the menu. You can also discuss price discounts with them to make it more affordable while still profitable for you. The more effort you put into helping them with the details of the party, the more they will appreciate your efforts and recommend your restaurant to others.
