The interesting thing about life is that lessons are everywhere. You never know when you might learn something. My recent life lesson at Disneyland had far-reaching implications. I'd like to share them with you.
Recently, we give a conference in California. Since we were in the area, we decided to take the kids to Disneyland. Now, we've all heard the complaints - short rides, long lineups, and a lot of time spent standing around instead of playing. Surely, there was some way around this problem.
So, we cruised the Internet to see if we could find a solution to this problem. My wife found a really cool software program that helped us avoid most of the lines. In fact, most of our wait times were about 10 to 15 minutes and there were only three times when we had to wait about 30 minutes. And we rode all of the major rides; some more than once.
Now, before I tell you the name of this incredible software program, let me tell you some of the lessons I learned from this experience that you can apply to your own online business!
This software program was amazing. We typed in the rides we wanted. The software analyzed traffic patterns for all the rides in the park on that date, then gave us a printout. Using this printed schedule, we avoided those long lineups during busy periods. This system works in conjunction with Disneyland's "Fast Pass" system.
Disney also has a "Fast Pass" system, which works nicely with the software. Again, if you were willing to plan ahead and postpone gratification, you are rewarded with shorter wait times and more rides. In this system, you obtain a Fast Pass ticket from a machine near your preferred ride. On the ticket is printed a time. Show up at that time, and you can enter the Fast Pass lineup. You avoid long delays, and sweep on past those who have made no plans.
As you can see, Disneyland rewards those who plan ahead. Using a combination of the software and the Fast Pass system, you can go right to the head of the line. By postponing immediate gratification, you win a larger reward.
So what can we learn from Disneyland's example? If you have a plan, and if you are willing to postpone a small reward now for bigger rewards in the future, you can get around the competition. This will help you build a successful online or home-based business.
In our example, success is getting to ride. Your competition, that long line of people waiting in front of you, is standing between you and success. If you are willing to postpone gratification, you can get around your competition. This will help you build a successful online business, one that will last.
Use the different Internet search tools to research your market and find out what your customers really want. Research keywords, and choose the ones that will rank you highest in the search engines. There are differences of Internet search tools, so choose wisely.
By delaying gratification (not trying to replace your day job income in two months!) AND having a well thought-out plan (preferably with some help from someone who knows a little about online marketing), in the long run, you will make more money in less time!
Take time now to research your niche and make plans. The lessons you learn will take you to the head of the line, passing your competition on the way. You can make $2000 a day in an Internet business. Buckle up, keep your hands and feet inside - enjoy the ride!
Oh, that software program I mentioned? Avoid the rides and live your vacation dream at Disneyland by visiting www.Ride.com. Enjoy!
